From PDFs, slides and photos to flashcards and quizzes: how to turn your materials

Which files you can upload, how to pick the right pages and how to get flashcards and quizzes from handouts, PowerPoints and photographed notes.

Which materials you can use

  • PDF: handouts and books, even scanned. Limit per generation: 5 pages on Free, 40 on Plus, 80 on Pro.
  • Word and PowerPoint: the text of documents and slides, with speaker notes.
  • Photos: notebook or board pages, also from your phone with a QR code.
  • Text and links: pasted notes, web pages and, on the Pro plan, YouTube videos with captions.

How to do it

  • Open Create and choose the format: set, flashcards or quiz.
  • Drag your files into the window or choose “From phone”.
  • For PDFs, select the pages you need: fewer pages, fewer credits.
  • Press Generate: you see the cost first and credits come back if something fails.

For better results

  • Upload one chapter at a time: a set per topic is easier to review than a huge one.
  • Photos straight and evenly lit: if the text reads well to the eye, it reads well for Vesta.
  • Add a line of instructions (for example “focus on dates”): the AI follows them.

Costs

A set costs at most 5 credits and covers up to 15,000 characters of material; every extra 5,000 characters is worth 1 credit.
